Bucknell featured prominently today on USA Today's college basketball page. Perhaps the most interesting comment in the story comes from Colgate coach Emmett Davis, who says he uses the Bison's success to help sell recruits on playing in the Patriot League. It is sort of a "rising tide lifts all ships" way of recruiting.

USA Today has also posted its capsule preview of the Patriot League.

More realistic than the preview that appeared in its print college hoops preview issue, the capsule says Bucknell is the "cream of the crop."

The special print issue had picked Lehigh to win the league, prompting the usual e-mails from Lehigh fans taking issue with where we ranked the Mountain Hawks in the Blue Ribbon previews.

The capsule does not diss Lehigh, calling the Hawks and American contenders, along with Holy Cross.

There is also a brief mention of Bucknell in Dickie V's column. Playing dozen questions, Vitale asks:
It was Shock City last season when George Mason got to the Final Four. Who is this year's edition of the Patriots? Could it be Hofstra, Creighton or Bucknell?
